Booking.com have introduced a new messaging tool to protect your business against email phishing. In your messaging security settings, you can now specify which email addresses can communicate with guests and which links you can send in messages to your guests on Booking.com.

This is a great step by Booking.com as it adds an extra layer of security to your guest messaging. However, you will need to add Tab as an approved domain.

If you charge secure card details from Booking.com using Tab's advance booking feature, or if you've used the customer's Booking.com email address to send a payment link, the Tab email receipt or payment request won't reach the customer without adding us to your approved email list.

Adding us to your approved list means that the Tab emails we send (receipts and payment links) will reach the customer's Booking.com email address.

To add an email address to your approved Booking.com list, follow these steps:

  • Sign into your Booking.com Extranet account.

  • From the main menu, go to Property > Messaging preferences > Security settings and authenticate yourself if necessary.

  • On the security settings page, go the Your email addresses section and click Add email address.

  • Add receipts@receipts.tab.travel to your approved list.

  • Add hello@tab.travel to your approved list.

Please note that you’ll only have access to these settings if you have admin rights for your Booking.com extranet account.

You can also add our Tab domain as an approved link.

This may help with presenting Tab's links to the customer within the Booking.com messenger. For example, a payment link or a link to our Terms & Conditions.

This setting allows you to specify which links can be shared with your guests via our messaging platform. For example, you might choose to add your property’s website address or a link to your online check-in tool.

Here’s how to specify which links can reach your guests:

  • Sign in to the Booking.com extranet

  • Click Property and then click Messaging preferences

  • Click Security settings

  • Complete two-factor authentication

  • Click Add a link and enter the specific domains: https://book.tab.travel, https://www.tab.travel, https://book.tab.travel/terms

  • To add more links, click +

  • Click Add domain

  • Once enabled, any links that you haven’t added will be removed from your messages. Your Booking.com guests won’t be able to click on them and will instead see [Link was removed].

These links will appear in the ‘Your approved links’ section.
