The IBAN number (International Bank Account Number) is unique to your bank account. It's a more detailed version of your usual bank account number, often used for cross border payments.

Some countries use IBANs already, while many others will introducing them over the next few years.

IBANs are up to 34 characters long and contains both letters and numbers. The first two characters are always letters that identify your country, e.g. CR for Costa Rica.

You should be able to find your IBAN on your bank statement or on your online banking. You can also contact your bank directly to confirm your IBAN.
